Travel Insurance

JSED-World Tours-2-Banner-min

Many unforeseen situations can arise that may cause you to cancel or shorten your travel plans. Without adequate protection, you may risk losing your travel investment. Purchasing travel insurance can help protect that investment if your trip is cancelled or interrupted due to a covered reason, and it can also provide parents with added peace of mind while their child is on tour.

As you prepare to register for an educational trip, be sure to review all relevant information related to travel insurance. You can explore our Travel Protection Plans below and speak with your Travel Consultant about adding coverage to your student tour, or confirm coverage with your preferred travel insurance provider prior to registration.

Travel Protection Plan Plus

Jumpstreet offers a range of travel protection plans designed to safeguard your educational travel investment, based on your country of origin and destination. Most travellers choose the Travel Protection Plan Plus, which includes an insurance package provided by TuGo (for Canadian travellers and U.S. travellers visiting Canada) or Trip Mate (for U.S. travellers on domestic U.S. or non-Canadian international trips).

If you are unsure which provider applies to your trip, please refer to your tour proposal or parent letter, where the applicable insurance product is clearly identified.

Eligible reimbursable expenses may include:

  • A traveller’s injury, sickness, or death of a family member;
  • Theft of passport or visas;
  • Flight cancellations and delays;
  • Loss of luggage and personal effects;
  • Trip cancellation or trip interruption due to covered reasons such as illness, injury, death, acts of terror.

To ensure maximum coverage, the Travel Protection Plan Plus must be purchased within 10 days of your tour deposit and cannot be refunded after 7 days from purchase. Full terms and conditions are outlined in the plan documentation.

If you have questions about your coverage, please call TuGo at 1-855-929-8846 and refer to the Explorer Plan, or TripMate at 1-833-297-2255 and refer to the Travel Protection Plan or the Ultimate Travel Protection Plan.

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Waiver Benefit*NYC_Attraction_Youth_Brooklyn Bridge

When you purchase the Travel Protection Plan Plus within 10 days of the initial trip deposit, you will also receive WorldStrides' CFAR Waiver benefit. The CFAR Waiver benefit allows individual participants to cancel their trip for any reason not otherwise covered by their insurance policy. WorldStrides will reimburse them for 75% of the applicable non-refundable cancellation fees, provided they cancel more than 2 days before the scheduled trip departure date.

The Cancel For Any Reason Waiver Benefit does not cover:
  • Penalties associated with any air or other travel arrangements not provided by WorldStrides; or
  • The failure of WorldStrides to provide the bargained-for travel arrangements due to cessation of operations for any reason.
 To file a CFAR claim, participants must first contact their insurance provider as indicated in the tour proposal and parent letter. Claims can be initiated through the appropriate provider’s claims portal (www.tugo.com/claims or www.travelclaimsonline.com). Once the insurance claim has been processed, the provider will notify Jumpstreet of any applicable cancellation benefits. WorldStrides will then process the CFAR waiver reimbursement, taking into account any insurance benefits already paid.

For additional information or to add a travel protection plan to your student tour, please speak with one of our sales consultants.

*The Cancel For Any Reason Waiver Benefit is provided by WorldStrides and is not an insurance benefit offered by TuGo, Trip Mate, or their designated underwriters.
