Sample itinerary for Spain and Portugal trips

Day 1

  • Overnight flight to Spain.

Day 2

  • Arrive in Malaga, let the journey begin!
  • Discover the Alcazaba, one of the largest Arab fortresses in Andalusia, as well as Gibralfaro Castle, built in the 14th century to protect the Alcazaba.

Day 3

  • Explore Granada with a local guide. Make no mistake, you are still in Spain, even though Granada's architecture appears to be from an entirely different  country!
  • Visit one of Spain's most legendary sites in Andalusia, the Alhambra Palace! This architectural masterpiece is sure to leave you with lifelong memories.
  • Stroll through the beautiful Generalife Gardens and enjoy the tranquility of this historic site.

Day 4

  • Discover everything there is to know about the making of olive oil on a guided tour, followed by an on-site tasting. Yum!
  • Let a local guide reveal all of the Cordoba's secrets, the city shaped by history, various civilizations and religions. The Mosque-Cathedral is sure to amaze you! 

Day 5

  • Put your sunglasses on, and be prepared to be dazzled by the beauty of the whitewashed streets of Seville during a guided tour with a local guide.
  • Visit Plaza de Toros of Maestranza, the city's central arena to understand the importance of bullfighting in Andalucian culture.
  • Get ready to clap your hands and stomp your feet to the beat, because you're about to participate in your very-own Flamenco class!

Day 6

  • This excursion is for the adventurers! Learn everything you need to know about Andalusia's bullfighting culture during a visit of a bull farm in Gerena. ¡Olé! 
  • Is there a better way to discover a new culture than through its food? Roll up your sleeves and let's partake in a paella workshop!

Day 7

  • Today we're changing countries and heading to Portugal. Let's go!
  • Welcome to Faro, the capital city of the Algarve. Discover the city's rich history during a guided tour.

Day 8

  • Take a cruise from Albufeira, along the southern coast of Portugal, to explore the region's most beautiful caves.
  • Discover the Portuguese capital of Lisbon and its rich historical heritage. Explore the Alfama district with its Moorish heritage, Bairro Alto and Baixa.

Day 9

  • Visit the Jeronimos Monastery, also known as Hieronymites Monastery, a 16th-century architectural masterpiece declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
  • Head to the Castelo de São Jorge, an ancient Moorish fortress dating from the 11th century, destroyed and then rebuilt into a castle to celebrate Portugal's victory during the Siege of Lisbon.
  • End your trip in style with a tasting of delicious Portuguese pastries, pasteis de Nata.

Day 10

  • With your head and luggage full of memories, make your way to Lisbon Airport to catch your flight home.
