Greece & Italy Class Trip - 10 Day Athens, Corinth, Delphi & Rome

  • 10 days
  • Middle School, High School

A class trip that combines Greece and Italy just makes sense. From Athens to Corinth to Delphi to Rome, you’ll get the best of both Mediterranean worlds: ancient history and monuments, gorgeous countryside and coastlines, and a wealth of delicious and diverse cuisines. Take us with you!

Here's What's On Deck:

The day has arrived! The trip you've been waiting all year for is finally here!! Meet at the airport to register for your flight (transportation to/from the airport is not included).

Take off aboard your flight towards Athens.

Hooray! You've arrived at Athens International Airport. Gather your luggage and belongings before you meet up with your Tour Leader and hop on a locally chartered motorcoach. First stop: Athens.

Welcome to Athens! You’re kicking things off with an epic guided tour, which will include the Panathenaic Stadium, the Parliament, the National Library, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and so much more! Seriously – this place is a history buff’s paradise.

What a first day! Now you’re going to check in to your hotel and settle in before tucking in to dinner. Don’t unpack too much – you’re checking out the next day.

After dinner you’ll have some free time before retiring to your rooms to tackle that jet lag.

Good morning! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’ll check out and make your way to the amazing Argolid Peninsula.

First stop of the day: Epidaurus, a portrait of classical Greece. You’ll visit the Asclepios temple, including its sacred fountain, Tholos, and its theatre, which is famous for its unique acoustics.

You can’t go to Greece without a guided olive oil plantation tour! Get ready to have your mind blown by a tasting session too. Speaking of tasting, this is where you’ll have free time for lunch (at individual expense).

Now you’re going to Mycenae, whose imposing ruins tell the story of the Mycenaean civilization that once occupied the eastern Mediterranean from the 15th to the 13th Century BCE. There are many references to this civilization in Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.

Next up: Palamidi, an 18th Century Venetian castle that overlooks the town of Nafplio. You’ll explore the castle’s eight strongholds, each bearing the name of a classic Greek hero. Can you name them?

Your road trip concludes in Corinth, where you’ll check in to your hotel before dinner, free time, and a well-deserved night’s rest.

Rise and shine! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’re checking out and exploring the ancient city of Corinth, one of the major cities of antiquity with its two bustling harbours.

You’ll also visit the Doric temple dedicated to Apollo, which overlooks the whole city. The views around here are simply breathtaking, especially when looking out on the Gulf of Corinth.

After some free time for lunch (at individual expense), you’re going to the archeological site of Acrocorinth, a monolithic rock, acropolis and strategic point for the area from archaic times to the early 19th Century. You’ll discover sites and relics dating back to ancient Corinth.

Your road trip concludes in Delphi, where you’ll check in to your hotel before dinner, free time, and a well-deserved night’s rest.

The adventure continues! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’re checking out and embarking on a guided tour of Delphi. You’ll learn the story behind the city’s nickname, “The Navel of the Earth”, and why it’s the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Excavations show traces of human existence dating all the way back to 12,000 BCE!

After free time for lunch (at individual expense), you’re going back to Athens! We have unfinished business there.

Upon arrival, you’ll have an in-depth tour of the Acropolis, a natural fortress that rises 100 meters above the lower city. There are almost too many amazing monuments to visit here: the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Agora and more. We’re also taking you the Acropolis Museum, where you’ll learn more about the excavations made on site. Archeology buffs, prepare to have your minds blown!

Your day concludes at your hotel, where you’ll check in before dinner, free time, and a well-deserved night’s rest. Don’t unpack too much – you’re flying to Italy tomorrow morning!

Good morning! Today’s the day we’re going to Italy! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’ll check out of your hotel, make your way to Athens International Airport, and check in for your flight to Rome.

Hooray! You've arrived at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Gather your luggage and belongings and hop on your locally chartered motorcoach. Next stop: Rome.

Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel and settle in before tucking in to dinner at a local restaurant nearby. Then you’ll head back to your hotel for free time and a well-deserved night’s rest.

Buongiorno! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’ll start your day with a tour of the legendary ruins of Pompeii, a city that was famously buried and preserved under Vesuvius’ volcanic ash during an eruption in 79 AD.

This is where you’ll have free time for lunch (at individual expense) before embarking on a short hike to the top of Mount Vesuvius. Can’t decide what’s cooler: the view, or the flumes of smoke still rising from the volcano’s crater.

Now you’re going back into Rome for dinner at a local restaurant. Frankly, we’re jealous.

You must be zonked by now. Good thing you’re going back to the hotel for free time and a well-deserved night’s rest.

Hello! After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’re going to Vatican City, where you’ll explore the Vatican Museum, home to one of the world's greatest art collection. You’ll learn all about the history of Catholicism, the Catholic Church and the Vatican during this half-day guided tour that builds to the Sistine Chapel.

Now you’re going to have lunch and free time (at individual expense) before exploring St. Peter’s Basilica, where almost all the iconic architects of the Baroque and Renaissance periods left their mark.

Time to head back to the hotel for free time, dinner, and a well-deserved night’s rest.

Good morning! Last day in Italy, so let’s make it count. After breakfast and orientation with your Tour Leader, you’re going into Ancient Rome with a local guide.

Your Ancient Rome experience will include time-travelling to the gladiator era with a stop at the famous Colosseum, the largest of the Roman Empire. We dare you to shout: “Are you not entertained?!” Then you’ll explore the Imperial Palaces before taking in the breathtaking view of Circus Maximus from the top of Palatine Hill.

Lunch time (at individual expense). Then you’ll wander into the Baroque part of town to admire, among others, the Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon, and the terrific Trevi Fountain.

You must be hungry! You’re going to eat dinner at a local restaurant now, before heading back to your hotel for free time to pack, settle down, and enjoy a well-deserved night’s rest.

Rise and shine, friends! After breakfast and orientation, you’ll check out, load up the motorcoach and head to Rome Fiumicino Airport to check in for your return flight. Your friends and family will be eager to hear all about your trip!
