STUDENT TOURS TO MONTREAL & MAURICIE

Combine the best of both worlds : you’ll dive into Canadian history in Old Montreal, practice your French in trendy neighborhoods and outdoor markets, and dance your heart out on the city’s endless festival circuit. You’ll also disconnect with Mother Nature as you learn survival skills, find your inner Lumberjack and enjoy the beauty of the Mauricie’s territories.

Our tours begin with ...

Day 1

  • An orientation walk through charming Old Montreal with your tour leader to see Place Jacques Cartier, City Hall, Marché Bonsecours, the Old Port, Notre Dame Basilica and more;
  • Local graffiti artists are going to show you how to (legally!) create your own urban masterpieces;
  • With your tour leader, stroll through the grounds of the McGill University downtown campus, a public research university and true world-class educational facility.

  • Time to sail away aboard the S.S. Cavalier Maxim for a dance boat cruise on the Saint-Lawrence River.

Day 3

  • Dostoevsky used to say ‘“There is not a thing that is more positive than bread.” So, let’s be positive and learn how to make bread at the Moulin Seigneurial de Pointe-du-Lac;
  • Free time for lunch (at individual expense) and to explore on the rue des Forges in Trois-Rivières;
  • Enter the Vieille Prison de Trois-Rivières - the old jail - and follow the guide to learn more about the daily life of a convict during the 1960’s;

  • Admire the Trou du Diable waterfalls at the Parc de l'Île Melville, where the Devil's legends awaits you;
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner in a local restaurant of Shawinigan.

Day 5

  • What is the difference between a Draveur, a cook, a fire-guard, a charcoal burner and a lumberjack? This is what you will learn at the Lumberjack Village today;
  •  Follow a naturalist guide and explore the territory of bears, the perfect opportunity for a hike at the Mauricie national Park;
  • Settle in the Windigo boat for an epic cruise on the Saint-Maurice River.
